Zoey

This is my last post post about my yellow lab zoey. Currently she enjoys laying by my side snoozing and relaxing. Its funny to watch her when she sleeps because she usually dreams. I like to watch her feet move like shes running and her lip move. She likes to sleep in the middle of the bed and spread out to be more comfertable. She also like to lay on her our pillow because she doesn't want to share. Lately her ears are standing up and her nose is moving like shes sniffing something. When she was a puppy she was almost white and as she has gotten older she has gotten darker. Well that's it..i hope this blog has helped you learn how to properly take care of you lab.

Zoey ate her collar

When I got home last week I went to take Zoey outside. I looked in the drawer and realized part of her collar was missing. She had eaten the part that has the prongs and nothing was left. Well.. at least I think she chewed the piece up since I couldn't find any of the pieces on the floor. Either she ate the whole piece or shed chewed it up really well. I'm happy to say she pooped fine and hasn't had any problems since the incidence. Dogs eat anything they have the access to so we need to keep pieces away. Zoey has been known to eat a lot of things but this was the biggest. When we got her as a puppy we had to keep the bathroom door closed because she would eat toilet paper.

My dog Zoey loves her stuffingless toys. Out of every toys shes gotten these are the first ones she hasnt destroyed. I can't figure it out but for some reason she really likes foxy, mouse, and her penguin. Everything else I buy she takes off the fur or eats their feet and legs. Whenever came up with these made a really good discovery. Now everytime I go to the dog store I get her something that doesnt have stuffing. Nylobones are also good because it keeps her occupied for hours. Anything that has peanut butter in it also keeps her busy. Usually I try to put peanut butter in it to keep her busy for hours.

Everytime I get dogfood I take zoey with me. Well today was a little harder then normal since I went alone. So imagine this, 70 pound dog and 50 pound bag of dogfood. Not to mention tons of toys and other dogs. Zoey and I went to the store and the first problem we had was trying to figure out how to hold my dog and lift a 50 pound bag of dogfood into the cart. Also, keep zoey away from the other dogs and toys. My first task was completed after 10 minutes of trying to lift the food into the cart. For some reason nobody was around to help me. In the end zoey got her dogfood and a toy and i got a headache.

Today I left my dog to go on some errands. Usually when I leave the house I close all the doors so zoey can move freely around the house. Well, today when I can home Zoey was on my bed asleep. Normally this wouldn't be an issue except for the face once she gets up there she can't get off. So needless to say she was stuck on the bed for about 3 hours. Now she sleeping on the futon. At least she was stuck somewhere that was comfertable.

how to care for your lab

Labs need to be bathed regularly to keep them smelling good. Some Labradors don't like to be bathed because it stresses them out. If this is the case don't bath them unless they need it. You also need to brush your Labrador to keep them from shedding as bad. Some labs shed more then others depending on the time of year. since Zoey is a heavy shedder I take her to the groomer every month. They use moisturizing shampoos that helps with dry skin. They also do extra brushing out to help with the shedding. The more you brush your dog the more they will like being brushed. If you make bathing a positive experience they will eventually enjoy their bath.

Labs eat anything!!

When I first got zoey she was great and didn't eat anything. As she got older I gave her more free rein of the house. This was a mistake because in one week she destroyed my hardwood floor, 3 rugs, and my couch cushion. Labs love to put things in there mouth. They are like a two year old child because if you leave it out they will most likely eat it. Don't overfeed you Lab because they will eat even if there not really hungry. It's a good thing to create you lab if your not home or able to watch them fully. This will keep them safe and less likely to destroy things in you home. Creating is a good things because it keeps them safe until there ready to rule the house.
